On December 14, 2106, as part of a nationwide movement, Women Against Gun Violence and many other members of the Los Angeles gun violence prevention network, joined together to remember all victims of gun violence.
The Concert Across America To End Gun Violence
On September 25, 2016, we co-produced the Los Angeles Concert Across America to End Gun Violence, on the rooftop of The Standard Hotel. 68 concerts took place in cities across the U.S. to engage our communities in the movement to end gun violence.
GUNS: An Art Show
WAGV partnered with the curators and gallery owner of The Loft at Liz’s Gallery in Beverly Hills, CA to bring art and conversation together in exploring the divisive issue of gun violence.
Symposium on Guns and Suicide
On September 29, 2016 we hosted a Symposium on Guns and Suicide at the Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. WAGV brought together experts in suicide prevention with experts in gun violence prevention to discuss lethal means reduction.
National Weeks of Action
WAGV joined many wonderful organizations in the NATIONAL WEEKS OF ACTION to end gun violence, culminating with a march on Washington DC on August 27, 2016. During the weeks of action, we hosted a screening of Brave New Films documentary “Making a Killing: Greed, Guns and the NRA” and visited to members of Congress in California.

On August 18, 2016 we hosted a screening of the Brave New Films documentary “Making A Killing: Greed, Guns and the NRA” at the Music Hall Theater in Beverly Hills. Panel discussion and reception followed the screening.

National Gun Violence Awareness Day
On June 2, 2016 WAGV joined a broad-based coalition of organizations, community members and activists across the U.S. to commemorate National Gun Violence Awareness Day.

Talk Day L.A.
On November 7, 2014 Los Angeles city officials declared TALK Day L.A. in honor of our TALK Project. Councilman Paul Krekorian introduced an ordinance that would require all gun owners to LOCK THEIR GUNS when not in use.
