On September 16, 1977, I was blessed with a baby boy.
As a toddler, you were my everything, my pride and joy.
Through growing up, we didn’t always see eye to eye.
But even through that, it’s hard to say goodbye.
Yes, you did wrong, but you also did right.
So with that my son, I kiss you good night.
Sleep my child, this is your mother talking,
Go with Tyree to the light and keep on walking.
