Killed by gun September 17, 1998, at age 23
I would like to introduce you to a special man. This man was not a famous man, nor was he a rich man. He was a simple man with a heart of gold and a true believer of lending a helping hand to those in need. Though a simple man, he had the strength to make a difference. Many attribute the amount of friends he had to his unique way he made people feel good about themselves, and how he always left a room with many smiling behind him.
Jesus A. Ron was a believer of working hard and achieving high. Just when things seemed to be going his way, after migrating from Mexico as a child, struggling to learn English, pushing himself to excel in an education and in the United States Marines – making rank as a Sergeant at 21 years of age – and finally starting a lifetime dream of going to college, his life was cut short. As a son, a brother, a friend, an uncle and a father-to-be, he has left a special significance in life: One must be an achiever, it’s more important than sitting in the back seat of life.
He didn’t believe in seeing others suffer. Jesus died September 17, 1998, when he helped a neighbor by saving her life during a domestic dispute with her ex-husband. As an achiever, he stood up to help, what he believed was right. He was assisting her to safety when he was killed.
